So many words, but do they make sense? Hi all and TGIF!
First, I have to share that I had a very intense writing session last night, during which I came up for an idea for another novella in addition to crafting what is probably the most off-the-rails, away from my outline chapter yet. I’m still on the first draft but I can promise you this right now…Book Two is going to be very different from Gathering of the Four in a lot of ways! Ok, now to what I was actually going to blog about this week… In anticipation of the cover reveal for Yours and Mine, I’ve done a website revamp. Most notably, you’ll see I created an art page. I’ve also made it easier to sign up for my newsletter by adding a form on my homepage, as well as here on the blog. Remember: newsletter subscribers will get to see my new cover before anyone else, so be sure to sign up if you haven’t already! I know this is a super-short post this week, but I’ve been busy getting everything sorted and ready for the release of Yours and Mine this holiday season. A Thing I Enjoyed This Week I was able to get back into my running groove this week despite the heat that came back with a vengeance here in D.C. I’ve also signed up for three 5k’s this fall! I really, really missed group runs during the pandemic, so I’m excited to get back out there with others!

Download Gathering of the Four for free before the offer is gone! Hi and happy Friday!
I wanted to let everyone know that Gathering of the Four is leaving KU at the end of the month, so if you’re a member and want to download it for free, you’d better get on it. (And tell your friends!) Also, if you’re not signed up for my newsletter, you should really change that because…I’m doing a cover reveal next month and newsletter subscribers will get to see it before anyone else! Hop to it, Serrulata Saga pals! A Thing I Enjoyed This Week For some folks, it’s officially fall as soon as the Labor Day weekend ends. I’m a summer gal, so I’m not usually excited about saying farewell to the warmest weather of the year. I’m also not a huge fan of pumpkin spice. (I have nothing against it. If it’s your jam, you do you.) I decided to take a chance on the pumpkin spice-flavored coffee being offered by Grounds & Hounds Coffee Co., one of my favorite online stores, and I have to say I’m quite pleased. I might not be ecstatic that colder weather approaches, but at least I’ll be caffeinated! Have a great weekend! Hello from sunny California! Hey y’all and happy September!
I’m back after a much-needed break. I took some time away from everything: work, my WIP, and even from where I live. I was fortunate enough to be able to get out to the west coast for a bit where I was able to soak up the sun and recharge. Now that I’ve returned, I’ve started looking ahead at my goals for the rest of 2021:
During my vacation, I reflected about the fact that I often attempt to do too much all at once, so I’m trying to keep things more manageable as the end of the year draws near. Additionally, and after careful consideration, I’ve realized I need to do some rebranding. I jumped head-first into self-publishing without doing a ton of research and I honestly think it’s hurt my sales. I moved ahead thinking only about what I liked and wanted and didn’t really consider my audience at all. Kind of a big mistake, but one I’m not going to dwell on. This entire journey has been a fun learning process for me, and I’m resolved to not beat myself up over needing to course correct. This is a hobby for me, after all—not how I make my bread and butter. That’s all for this week, Serrulata Saga pals. Lots in the works. Stay tuned…and stay safe and well! |
