Hello from sunny California! Hey y’all and happy September!
I’m back after a much-needed break. I took some time away from everything: work, my WIP, and even from where I live. I was fortunate enough to be able to get out to the west coast for a bit where I was able to soak up the sun and recharge. Now that I’ve returned, I’ve started looking ahead at my goals for the rest of 2021:
During my vacation, I reflected about the fact that I often attempt to do too much all at once, so I’m trying to keep things more manageable as the end of the year draws near. Additionally, and after careful consideration, I’ve realized I need to do some rebranding. I jumped head-first into self-publishing without doing a ton of research and I honestly think it’s hurt my sales. I moved ahead thinking only about what I liked and wanted and didn’t really consider my audience at all. Kind of a big mistake, but one I’m not going to dwell on. This entire journey has been a fun learning process for me, and I’m resolved to not beat myself up over needing to course correct. This is a hobby for me, after all—not how I make my bread and butter. That’s all for this week, Serrulata Saga pals. Lots in the works. Stay tuned…and stay safe and well!
